TIDUNG ISLAND
Here i want to share about Tidung Island, the new paradise that easy escape from Jakarta. It is the largest island among the group of thousand islands. Located in north of Jakarta, only 1 hour by predator boat n 2 hours by traditional boat. You can reached the island from Muara angke harbor and Marina Ancol harbor. You can choose which harbor nearest from your place.
Actually there are 2 islands called Tidung besar (Greater Tidung) and Tidung kecil (Smaller Tidung). The local people live in Tidung Besar. They work as a fisherman and also they rent their house as a home stay for tourist.
there are some activities such as snorkeling, canoeing, banana boat,bunge jumping, diving and cycling. Tidung Island is surrounding by small islands that you can explore all beautiful corals by snorkeling or even diving. You can enjoying the sunset at Tidung Kecil island after cycling or just take a little walk on the bridge named love. Imagine the wind blows on your cheeks while you stand on the bridge. Then you smell the beach like you refresh yourself from the crowded city in your daily work. Oh, that place is very quiet place faraway from noise.
Even though not a tourist island like Bali or Lombok, Tidung island is not less beautiful and comfortable to be used as a place for recreation or refreshing. With low cost we get a lovely scenery and it's not a balance return if we compare with the cost we paid. And this is the reason why Indonesian backpackers called this island "The New Paradise".
